Hamburg has been my home since 2022, and over time it has become much more than the place where I happen to live.
I know some parts of the city well enough to stop paying attention to them, only to notice something completely different the next time I walk through the same street. That is probably one of the things I like most about Hamburg: it can feel familiar and slightly strange at the same time.
This is where I collect stories from the city — concerts and cultural events, neighbourhoods, parks, restaurants, architecture, seasonal traditions and the small details that tend to disappear from conventional city guides. Some posts are useful if you are visiting Hamburg for the first time; others are written from the perspective of someone who has been here long enough to develop favourite places, routines and a few strong opinions.
Hamburg is also where many of the other subjects on this blog meet. Music, food, photography, culture and everyday city life tend to overlap here rather naturally.
So this section is not meant to be a definitive guide to Hamburg. It is simply my version of the city, built up one story at a time.
